We can’t believe we are now 2 years old! The time has flown by and it felt just like yesterday that we left our jobs to start out on our own and to use our skills to help For-Purpose organisations to make the world a better place and increase their social impact. Whilst our first year was rather slow getting established, our second year was full of huge steps of growth. This year felt like the year we grew up and fully became Impacto Consulting.
In our second year, we achieved some milestones that we thought we would hit much further down the track. One of the results we are most proud of is that we helped just over 300 organisations to either understand the people they care for better, improve their services to better meet the needs of their users, or empower their people to innovate in their organisation. And we’ve really enjoyed seeing the social impact outcomes of this work start to come to life.
It has not only been about the outcomes of the organisations we have worked with, but also the outcomes for the people with lived experience that we have involved in our work. The more you give people a voice in the way services are designed, you realise just how much people like to be included and heard. Not only does it improve the services that we design, but it also can be almost therapeutic for the people with lived experience to be heard, included and empowered to drive change.
Working across many For-Purpose organisations we’ve been lucky enough to meet so many lovely people along the way. We’ve made new friends and forged strong partnerships, all with people with big hearts that are doing such important work.
In the year ahead we look forward to playing a role in helping the community recover from this pandemic. Especially around reducing social isolation, which recently has become an even bigger issue. We were involved in a number of projects on this topic over the past year and we are keen to use some of our research to deliver innovative new ways to keep people connected to their community.
A big thank you to all of the people we’ve worked with and those of you that have supported us. We’re looking forward to creating an even bigger impact in year 3!
